Our Process

240 Days Started in 1945 as Canandaigua Industries and grew through 1954 and beyond

Humble Beginnings

1945

At the age of 21, Marvin Sands purchases Canandaigua Industries in Upstate NY. With only eight employees, he sells bulk wine in barrels and bottles. In its first year, the company sells approximately 200,000 gallons of wine.

Building a Winning Brand

1954

The introduction of the brand, Richard’s Wild Irish Rose, spearheads the growth of the company. Its unique franchising system helped the brand grow rapidly, allowing Canandaigua Industries to develop its own wine production facilities to meet the explosive demand for Wild Irish Rose.

240 Days came from Canandaigua Wine Company and continues to grow to this day

Boom Years

1980

Canandaigua Wine Company becomes the eighth-largest U.S. wine producer with net sales passing $50 million.

Becoming 240 Days

2015

Combining best-in-class expertise with the highest quality of ingredients, winemaker Nova Cadmatre founded 240 Days. A short year later, the brand released its first vintage.
